Heya!
We awoke with Mary coming in this morning saying "it's lashing with rain" we replied with " it's doin what?". Aka its raining! Then she told us the Queen was going to Edinburgh as part of the jubilee celebrations.
So we went off to Roselyn Chapel just south of Edinburgh which is featured in the DaVinci code. It has very fine carvings in the sandstone which it's made from. It's very old 1446 and it survived many attacks and the queen has even been there.
After a lovely coffee we continued on to Edinburgh. We parked near the Royal Mile and walked up High street towards the castle. We popped in and out of the Scottish/kilt shops as Alibear wanted a kilt but couldn't decide which one he wanted ( he is worse than a female). After some lunch at a local cafe we went up to the castle to explore. We got up to the top in time for the 21 gun salute for the Liz, she was down on lower High Street. After exploring there for a couple of hrs then going back down high st we headed back to Glasgow. Which took 2 hrs due to peak hr as a lot of people from Glasgow wk in Edinburgh.
The weather was about 15 deg with a wet drizzle like a warm heavy sleet! However the cloud was down so photos were not the best today. A Soft shell with a hood is fantastic so you don't need to worry about raingear. Also waterproof shoes always a good thing as my cousins found out! Prune feet! We have just had some lasagna for dinner.
Cheers for now
