Another early start, 8.50am, for our thai cookery day! We had decided the night before to try and change our flights and train booked for today to tomorrow so we could stay another night as we both didn't feel ready to move on yet. Thankfully Ping Pong was able to change it for us.
We cooked 7 dishes altogether including spring rolls, Pad Thai, Hot Basil Stir fry, Tom sab soup, Deep fried bananas, Red Thai curry paste and the curry too-yum! Toby also made Pad see ew noodles, tom yum soup (shrimp) and sticky rice with mango (of course!). The teacher 'Mam' was lovely and so friendly, before the cooking she took us all to a local market and showed us the varieties of noodles, rice, and vegetables. She also showed us around her herb garden and identified the 3 types of basil and ginger and tumeric roots- it was a great learning experience. We've even got a cookery book each to take home and practice with- can't wait to get back to Exeter and try them all over again.
We tried on our suits after the class, a bit tight after eating all that food, but they fitted beautifully. Should get me a good teaching job now…?
