So here you go my last blog from Innisfail. Innisfail Pat Five. To tell you the truth when I first arrived here I never thought I would be there that long. And after my first day on a Banana farm I definitely didn't think I would make the full three months, yet I did with another month and a half for luck. I guess I should thank the people for making my stay there truly remarkable. We were like a little family in the Crown, it wasn't the biggest of hostels so you were forced to get to know everyone and drink many beers, goons, Jim Beams or whatever anyone had.
Anyway now to tell you about my last few weeks in Innisfail. Work was still slow, I did get a few extra days humping but it was a relief when I finally hung my last Banana bunch. I am a big believer in the saying never say never. But I am pretty sure that I will never ever work on a Banana farm again.
As you probably to fill my free time this often involved getting drunk. We had some awesome and random nights out. One involved everybody getting their face painted as animals, another rave in the rainforest that was only spoilt because of the literally millions of march flies biting you throughout the daylight hours of the day. And a day at the horse races where I casually won 3 out of the 5 races to come back $5 in profit, including drinks and entry etc.
So on to my next stop now Townsville, the beard has gone after probably 6/7 weeks off growth. I liked it, but now I'm shaved I do look a lot younger and cleaner. Pros and Cons to both I suppose. I'm looking forward to traveling again and blogs should be coming to you faster now as I will be 2 days here, 3 days there again much like I was in Asia. But I will definitely miss the people that have come and gone in the Crown. I'm pretty sure though that the majority of the people I will see again whether it be again in Oz, England or their home country so as I told them it's not goodbye it's just see ya later!
So until next time stay safe
Adi
