Adam and Charlotte's Great Escape.
We were up very early this morning for our trip of a life time to the Great Barrier Reef.
The 25 metre catamaran we were on left Cairns at 8am this morning heading for the Great Barrier Reef. Our first stop was in deep water on the Outer part of the Barrier Reef. We had to swim to the reef from the boat to go and explore the coral. The water was choppey and rough and I (Charlotte) had to get out and go on the glass bottom boat instead as I couldn't get comfortable with the water. This was a nice break from Adam and it allowed me to see down there and learn about the reef. However, Adam was off and away taking snap shops of the reef, which we hope will come out, he found the experience fantastic but was a little dissappointed he didn't see more creatures of the deep.
The second stop was at a bird invested sand island in the middle of the ocean, where you can snokel of the beach and explore the coral which survives in shallower water. I (Charlotte) manged to go snokeling here with Adam as the water was a lot calmer.
This trip was without a doubt was the best thing we have done so far and we can't wait to show you the photos when we get back (finges crossed).
Goodbye for now
Charl and Ad
P.s We didn't get attacked by this shark...but it's a cool picture!!!!
