Adam and Charlotte's Great Escape.
Good day everyone from downunder.
Today we headed for the Daintree river ferry in our camper. We were unsure if we would get back across the river today, because due to the rain we have been having there is a risk that the river will flood and the ferry will not go. However we took the chance with our home on wheels and crossed the river and headed for the Daintree Discovery Centre. As usual it was raining but ironically we were exploring the Daintree Rainforest, so we put our waterproof jackets on and explored its many walkways. To tell you the truth we didn't see anything other than trees, oh and Adam saw one butterfly, i mean where were the birds and reptiles and other things? However it was nice to see some of Australia's rainforest. Did you know that this rainforest is ment to be older than the Amazon?
Before heading back to the ferry we went up the road to the Daintree Ice Cream Company and tasted homemade ice cream made from in-season fruits of the rainforest we had: jakfruit, mamey sapote, wattleseed and blueberry.
We are now in Port Douglas for the night after getting back across the river safely. It seems like a nice camp site with not as many bugs.
Write another entry soon
