Adam and Charlotte's Great Escape.
Hello,
From the boring town of Greymouth we headed what is supposed to be one of the most beautiful scenic roads in the world. It was kind of beautiful but it was a very dull and cloudy day so I didn\'t enjoy looking out the window as much as I would have on a bright and sunny day. The highlight of the drive was proberly stopping to look at the Pancake rocks. Which as you can guess are rocks that look like pancakes. So after looking at these we drove for a couple more hours and spent the night in a place called Motueka.
Next day we explored the Abel Tasman National park. We took a water taxi to Torrent bay where shook horror we had to take our shoes and socks off roll up our trousers and stride through the cold water to dry land (this was not made clear beforehand). Adam walked in above knee deep water but once the weight had got off the boat I only had to walk through ankle deep water. From Torrent Bay we embarked on a 5 hour walk back to where the car was parked and this was not the only time we had to take our shoes and socks off. On one section of the track you are able to cross the bay at low tide. Our trainers were getting muddier and muddier we had managed to jump over the streams of water up until the point where we reach one that was just too wide so we had to get our feet wet again. After this the track passed through forestland and you could detour down to look at all the little bays. It was a beautiful day but very exhausting.
Now we are in Nelson and today (Saturday) we have been to the market and bought some fruit and veg.
Good bye for now
Ad and Charl xx
