I you ever want to waste 2 hours of your life then go and see 'crank" at the cinema! This was the mistake me and campbell made in Bangkok the other night. We also managed to get ourselves laughed at by everyone in the cinema: sitting near the front we heard some laughing going on behind us just before the start of the film, and turned round to find everybody standing up for the national anthem that was being played over pictures of the king (not elvis)on the screen! Never mind. We are now in the tropical paradise of Kata beach on Phuket. It is a far cry from the craziness and pollution of Bangkok, and already far more relaxing. So far we have spent our time sunbathing on the beach, swimming in the amazingly clear sea teaming with fish and drinking in a bar overlooking the beach. Have also slipped back in to old habits by having thai green curry for breakfast today!! It did however take us 22 hours to get here on various buses from Bangkok - twice as long as it took us to get from Manchester to Bangkok!! Although it was slow we were travelling with a fun and mixed bunch of people. I think also it highlighted how laid back we both can be by the irate state some of the others were getting themselves in to for the amount of time the journey was taking!!
