We've arrived in Phi phi and it's so so beautiful!
We moved on from Bangkok on the 24th (ended up staying an extra night as we didn't book the train, oopsy). We covered everything we wanted to see including a trip to the floating markets where a lady cooked us up a beautiful dinner, the best Chinatown I have ever been in and pretty much every temple worth photographing. A lot of temples! Bangkok is the funniest place to stay in, every street surprises you! Our daily walks down Khoa San road went along the lines of 'no Tuk Tuk please, no suit, no massage and definitely no more pad Thai!' We found some really good food stalls a few streets down where we ate dinner for about 70p with the locals. I think overall Bangkok's a love/hate relationship!
We took the special express to Surat Thani overnight, 10.50-8am (in Thai time which can be any length of time) then a bus to Krabi. About £15 for the whole journey, Amazing! Krabi was actually a really good base to do a few things. Railey was cute apart from all the Japanese tourists who insist on wearing life jackets to swim, not so picture perfect! Also headed on a James Bond Island tour to Phan Nga Bay with an amazing canoe through the caves and mangroves. We stayed at a little place called the laughing Gecko in Ao Nang which was about 150m from the beach and only £5 a night. It was so homely! The couple were so welcoming and really a pleasure to meet them. They were little bamboo bungalows, basic with a fan, shower and mosi net. Only downside was no hot water but none of us cared as once your there it's hard to leave! When we left, they booked the boat for us all to head to Phi phi which is where I'm sat on the beach writing this now :) We're already in love! Can't wait to go snorkelling and explore the reefs tomorrow!
Wish you were here!
