A lovely night's sleep in our yurt, the odd times I did wake it was pouring down with rain, quite cozy really!
We get up at 9am and it seems strange that we are not putting the gear on to ride the bikes. Still, we are all ready for a well deserved rest! Breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon in the Oasis cafe with lashings of coffee goes down well. My stomach is still feeling tender however, so do not want to risk eating too much.
The rest of the day is spent relaxing, catching up with blogs and getting bikes ready for shipping.
In the evening, Steve as I get a taxi down into Ulaatabaar and meet up with John, Tom and Matt in the The Blue Sky Hotel restaurant. This is very distinctive glass building, arc shaped and we are on the 23rd floor, so fantastic views of the city. It was great to catch up the Tom and Matt and they will be continuing on their journey to Vladibostock tomorrow. After the meal in the Blue Sky restaurant we venture down to the Great Khan Irish bar. Here we have a few beers and watch the World cup final between France and Croatia. A great atmosphere with lots of other revellers!
We sit on a table with two local Mongolians who could speak English, a man and woman but not married to each other but lifelong friends. We get quite chatty and end up drinking the night away with them. Finally and at about 1am the match finishes, we finish our last beer, say our goodbyes and give our best wishes to Tom and Matt. The Mongolian couple get one of their sons to give us a lift back to our yurt at the Oasis cafe - lovely people!
