Hi all, thought a new entry was in order - because so much has changed since my blog, including change of scenery a couple of times, change in weather, and finally...the loss of passengers. Yup. Paul & Jonny are set to leave Thailand in the next couple of days with Holly & Steve, to arrive home this week. Thus leaving, ironically and unexpectedly, just J Rae and I.
After a couple of days on a signal vacant bay, named Bottle Beach away from the mess and noise of Had Rin, we came back for a night before everyone went their seperate ways. With the 4 leaving Pha Nang for Bankok, and J Rae and I for Koh Tao, an island north of our predecessor - which translates into Turtle Island and is aimed at divers. So, upon arriving we went to a company named Easy Divers and booked a 4 days course and accomodation to learn how to dive! The first day merely involved an hour video for orientation, which reminded me of the old fashioned and often comical education videos which watched at school! The town we are in could not be more different to Had Rin, it is aimed predominantly at divers, with scuba shops and companys replacing the bars and restaurants! There are still a few bars, shops etc here but it's far more relaxed and quiet. Luckily the weather appears to be picking up, and I am slowly but surely developing my long awaited tan!
For J Rae and I tonight, it seems an early one as 'class' begins at 9! We have recruited aCanadian girl, Isabel from Quebec (apologies for that spelling) who is joining us in Tao for the time being, to endeavour on becoming a novice diver also! So, for now I'll say good bye- hoping this was an adaquate catch up, and update! As usual, miss everyone terribly (even more so now) and wish you could all drop everything and join us on an even bigger adventure! In fact, if anyone does have free time or a desperation to escape. be my guest! Messages appreciated, lots of love Sophie x x x
