And now for a female perspective, from the solo girl out here! After leaving Bangkok and Koh San behind, we took a 12 hour bus (surprisingly comfortable) down to Koh Pha Ngan, an island off of Thailand to prepare for the Full Moon Party which is happening tomorrow night! Which, going by last night's warm up is going to be messy! We found some cosy beach bunglaows at a resort called Rainbow and chilled for the afternoon, later on just Steve, Holly and I headed to the town Had Rin where all the party and noise was, whilst the boys had a lazy night in. Although the premise was just to have a look around and have some food, it ended with Holly & I doing a Bridget Jones and swimming in the sea fully clothed - before setting off to a pool party at another result. Safe to say, my first hangover in Thailand is not pleasant, resulting in this blog taking an extra long time to write! This morning we all ventured off to the town again, which is where I'm sitting - after the longest and hardest walk I've ever taken. The idea was to come out of the resort, and catch a taxi which routinely drive past, beep their Thai horns and pick you up. However. It's my belief God decided to punish us for too much fun last night, and not one single taxi drove past. This island has some of the steepest hills, for those of you who know, Brentwood's cardiac hill does not come close! Jonny, Holly and I were the hardcore trekkers, with sweat pouring down us, we watched as Paul, J Rae and Steve drove past us in a taxi that had picked them up whilst they staggered behind. Like I said, God's punishment!
Weather wise - it's been pretty cloudy since we arrived on the island, and I'm determined to not only match Holly's 3 month tan - but also beat Jonny and J Rae in our tan competition! So hopefully the weather will pick up and bring us blue skys.
Before we left Bangkok, we took our first tuk tuk ride - to look at a few sites, the lucky Buddha, the Golden Mount...with the cheeky drivers attempting to convince us we needed tailored suits and silk ties, as that would be their commision! C'est la vie, they lost!
Think the rest of the day will be spend relaxing and watching one of the films or Friends (Sophie you'd love it - when you leave Sri Lanka you'll be immediately satisfied!) and building up energy for tomorrow night. Despite the lack of promised sunshine at the moment, it's completely refreshing to be away from Brentwood, work and all the other British worries. And even though we're of course missing everyone, it feels like another world!
We're going to upload the photos we've so far taken asap, but for now I'm going to indulge in my idea of cardio, and surprisingly where I was when the boys left the other blog - shop! Keep leaving us messages, as we get to check them regularly - lots of love to everyone, and for now have fun!
