Hi It's J Rae and Paul here. We are at a little internet cafe along the Khao San Road.
Just logging in to let everyone know we are okay. The flights were wicked as the first one was less than half full so we all had rows to ourselves to sleep. Apart from Paul losing his boarding pass in Heathrow (He had to seach the departures lounge with a person from the cabin crew... it was in his bag!!) getting here went without a hitch. We spent most of Wednesday drinking in London and then headed down to the airport where we had a few cocktails in TGI friday's then jumped on the plane. After a few games of Uno and a couple of movies on the plane, most of us fell asleep. Jonny and Steve however found out that the drinks on the plane were complimentary and set about drinking as much Heineken as possible before the plane landed!
After spending an hour in Doha, Qatar and getting another 6 hour flight we arrived in Bangkok at about 7 pm and managed to get a minibus to our hotel where we met with hols and els. After that came another night of drinking after our amazement at the price of beer and food! 80p for a beer and 1 pound for a main meal!
Unfortunately after consumption of beer Steve is feeling a bit worse for wears today! Depsite Holly's warnings that Chang beer is quite potent, we bought a 3 and a half litre tower of the stuff then another tower of Tiger! A favourite of ours last night was whiskey and red bull with an added kick which topped off the night for alot of us. Jonny fell asleep as soon as he hit the pillow! Today we have had a relaxing time by the pool and shopping along Khao San Road. J Rae and Jonny went for a walk in the morning whilst the rest slept off their hangovers. It was a good stroll around the local Buddhist temple gardens and palaces. We spent a few hours out and about before the others even woke up.
We plan to book our train tickets to Ko Phangan today as well as doing a few more bits of shopping and ending up in a local bar. The food here is not only cheap but delicious, especially the chinese orientated thai food. J Rae is having a great time tasting the most exotic plates on the menu! We will try and put some pictures up as soon as we can. Probably within the next couple of days. Until then, missing everyone loads! xx
