So it's 3.30am here and I cant sleep! Putting it down to a combination of jet lag and woody and tim's new band... 'SnorringFarts' (sounds like some sort of 70s punk band!). They have some serious natural ability by the way and the debut single will be literally 'released' this Christmas (you heard it hear first - well actually I did!).
Anyway I digress.... After picking up some supplies we heads out for a day's tramping on a glorious and true blue sky day in Lake Tekapo. To start we headed to the track 20mins down the road in-between lake tekapo and its little sister lake Alexandria. After making a slight detour onto private land with the help of a local farmer (donning such a tight pair of shorts that Wood and I nearly got the full view of the giy's golden giblets as he was getting off his tractor!) we managed to find a place to park and spent a couple of glorious hours leisurely taking in the stunning scenery lake tekapo has to offer... Simply breath taking.
After some lunch, a quick dip by yours truly in the lake and a 'skimmers' comp we headed out again to take on the mount john. Much more demanding walk this one initially along the pebble beach and then up the steep sides of the summit. A good 3hr30 workout although particularly good for Tim! We enjoyed a well earnt sugar hit at the top with more photo opportunities before heading back to base camp.
Have managed to pick up some serious tan lines today and Wood has some quality panda eyes after wearing his prada's in the sun just a bit too long.
Next stop Dunedin and my first World cup game... Can't wait.
P.s Also looking forward to handing out our match attire tomorrow that i ordered off the web. They don't know what it is but I'll be sure to take lots of photos for you unless you see us on the tv first of course!
Till then
