This week we have been in Mexico learning about the celebration called Cinco de mayo. Cinco de mayo is mexican for 5th of May. This is the day that they celebrate their victory over France in the Battle of Puebla (The Battle of the Blood River). Mexico did not expect to win because their army was much smaller.
At the Cinco de Mayo they celebrate Mexico by eating mexican foods, drinking mexican drinks, doing the mexican hat dance, wearing the mexican colours of red, green and white and hitting pinatas.
This week in Mexico we made ourselves a sombrero and learnt the mexican hat dance. We learnt lots of mexcian foods and drinks such as nachos, burritos, tacos, enchiladas, tortillas, salsa, beans, margaritas and mexican beer. We also coloured in the mexican flag.
Today we wore our sombreros while we danced the mexican hat dance then we all sat down together to try some yummy nachos. We are having a wonderful time on our adventure and can't wait for our next flight on Monday.
Bye for now,
From the 2E travellers xo
