Last Day On The Road
Today is the final day on the road, destination Mazatlan!
The group was up and on the road at 8:34 am. Allan and Pepe let us know that we would have limited stops and lunch in our trucks, everyone is very excited to finally get the trucks to Mazatlan. As per our usual routine Murray drove to the 1st fuel station and then it was Viv's turn to drive. At 3pm we once again pulled into a Pemex fuel station and yes Murray was still in his seat. Driving in Mexico in a Fire Truck as a women is something I will always remember. With many wave's and even a high five at a toll booth it was lots of encouragement to keep going. With my supportive and very calm driving partner at the wheel we continued on. It was very exciting to start seeing Km signs for Mazatlan we knew we were getting close.
We arrived in Mazatlan at 6:56 and were met by the Bomberos and Colleen. We parked our trucks and they will be well looked after for the next couple of days by the bomberos. Then it was off to the hotel, got checked in and went out for supper. The crew is happy to be in Mazatlan. We got here safe and sound with not even one break down or difficulty. A great trip. Thanks to Pepe and Memo for getting us across Mexico. Tomorrow, no driving.
