After going to bed early last night, I was up early this morning. When I went into the bathroom the shower was full of water and the bathing suits were on the floor of the shower. I thought maybe they stopped water from going down, but where is the water coming from? After picking up the bathing suits the water was not going down. I checked the tank level and it was full. It turns out Gil left the water running after his shower last night shutting down only the valve by the shower head. The bathing suits knocked it and hit it a bit open when they fell. The shower was running who knows how long and it filled up the grey tank. I think I got up just in time before the whole bathroom started to flood...
So let me explain how this works for those that do not know. We have a tank that holds clean water and we fill that up when we leave for a trip. This allow us to use the bathroom, all sinks and shower just like we were connected to water. We just need to be mindful of not wasting it so it lasts us as long as we want. There is a black tank that holds the toilet waste and a grey tank that holds the rest of the water. The black tank is always closed until we are ready to empty. The grey tank is closed of course when we do not have hookups, but when we connect to hookups we can leave it open so the water flows out to the sewer just like when you are in your house. When we are getting ready to empty the black tank we close the grey tank to fill it so it acts as a flush on the line after we empty the black. When we hooked up yesterday, we left the grey tank closed in order to fill it up more. I went outside and empty the tanks - black then grey and then left the grey open for the rest of the time we are here...
All the attractions open at 9AM, but the first shuttle does not come until 9:30 so we took our time getting ready and then headed out in time for the 9:30 shuttle. We rode the shuttle into town and we thought we would get off at the stop and then walk to the Hop on Hop off trolley which we have tickets for today also to get to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Our shuttle driver announced that if we were planning to go there to stay on and she would drop us off at the corner of the Museum. This worked out perfect.
We purchased tickets to the museum and signed up for the next RCA Studio B Tour. We waited about 10 minutes and then headed out on the shuttle to the Studio. We went into the recording room where they still have the piano and all the equipment used by some of the greatest in the music industry since 1957.
We came back from the tour and then went in to check out the museum. We spend a few hours exploring. At this point we were more than ready for lunch so we walked to Broadway to try Jacks' BBQ which was featured in the Food Network DDD show. I tasted the brisket Gil bought. I do not eat meat anymore, but if I did, I do not think I would go out of my way to eat there. The sides were edible but nothing to rave about. I am not sure what the big deal of the place was. For us it was a disappointing meal.
After lunch we took the Trolley tour ride to the Parthenon. It's a replica of the one in Athens. They say Nashville is the Athens of the South. There is some big ugly statue in there of a goddess. They also have an art display and I really liked one of them. Unfortunately I do not remember any information about it since we were not allowed to take pictures of it.
We then took the Trolley to another stop near Hattie B's Hot Chicken, but we did not stop there for the chicken. We went to try Gigi's Cupcakes. I spotted that yesterday on the tour and I remember reading about it in one of the RV blogs I follow. Gil and I got one cupcake each to share and one to go. They were good, but a found them a little dry. I would not go out of my way to say they are the best. Ohlsens are definitely much better.
After that we waited so long for the next Trolley in the sun and it was so hot out we got pretty wiped out. The sun does that to you y'all know. We rode the Trolley back into downtown and decided to call it a day. We walked to the shuttle stop and rode back to the RV.
After a light dinner snack we are relaxing and reviewing our plans for tomorrow. Nashville is a cool city though. I see myself returning another time and enjoying more of what it has to offer perhaps with a car.
