Sunday Evening,
It was raining so much I had to invest in a new poncho! Wandering up and down I was not really feeling the market! I returned to the dry of my room and waited for the rain to end! It eventually did and I headed back out apparently my shopping bug was back and I purchased some more items! I was also very excited to find a sushi stand where I purchased some it was good! So after off loading a reasonable anmount from my backpack it is full again!
Monday morning I had booked myself on to another trip! It turned out well with 3 guys Johnny, Will and Adam all around the same age so it was quite fun! We started at a butterfly and Orchid farm alittle random and then onto elephant riding (again). They were clever elephants we purchased some bananas and the elephant was able to swing his trunk write up and back to get them as he was going along! Johnny and Adams elephant just reached forward to het my bananas and boob! It was fun until ours decided to make a bee line at the edge (verticle drop down) for some leaves leaving us slightly affraid, Will even more so abeing terrified of heights, I tried not to laugh to much!
We reached the end and told to follow a little old man asking us for money! He took us down to the river and put us in a cage with a pully system to get us across the other side! I'm not going to lie I definitely thought I would be in the middle of the river instead! But we did however make it and took a bumpy ride up to a village where we saw an animal grazing when Adam turned and said 'what would you call that' to our amusement we would call it 'a cow!'
We then hiked up to the waterfall climbing up hills, down hills, over stones, tree trunks and some homemade bridges. We arrived and it was nice to cool down in the waterfall until lunch was served, wrapped in a banana leaf pad thai was served up with lychees to finish! Offfor white water rafting where our guide informed us someone died doing it last year excellent! We strapped our helmets and life jackets on and we were off, it was fun although a little cheated as we only did this for 20 minutes instead of an hour! We then swapped for a bamboo raft that we had to sit on and Will had to punt until catching his foot and falling headfirst in the river and hurting his foot! They also tried to load us with another 4 passengers until we all started to sink and they decided maybe this was not a good idea!
We then headed back into Chiang Mai, I booked my boat for Laos and had a little snooze until Vic kept waking me with her pings!!! I headed out in the evening to meet the boys for some dinner and drinks. We sat in the roof top bar which I think was meant to be as the special last night was gin and tonic! We bumped into 4 other girls that we had met earlier and played a few games, I have another good one to bring to the gin ship! We finished the night with some pad thai (definitely not up to Bangkok standards) and headed home!
Up this morning to squeeze everything into my bag and left for the 3 day journey to Laos! I was informed the trip would be full of people...but just the 3 of us a couple and me, luckily they were very nice! We made a quick stop in Chiang Rai to see the white temple-incredible and then left for the middle of no where! Which is where I am now and i'm quite sure all there is to do is internet...We leave at 7.30am tomorrow for a full day on the boat fingers crossed for tanning weather!
See you all in Laos!
