My official whole day on the Island of Lesvos was today! I arrived yesterday around 7pm. There are 23 students. ALL are girls! oh-uh too much estrogen could get interesting!
Hotel Votsola, where we are staying is absolutely breath taking. The view outside my room looks out into the Aegean sea and the outside sitting area is even more spectacular. The hotel is more like a big house than a hotel. The staff is so friendly as well as the other guest. I'm pretty sure I witnessed a future professional soccer player practicing... he was only three!!! I tried to get his autograph but he wasn't having it (that part is a lie. I didn't ask).
We went to our classes for the first time today. The school there was on strike today so it was completely empty. Not that there is room for very many kids anyway. There are about 6 maybe 9 class rooms connected around a central basketball court. The building look like double wide trailers.
The majority of the day we laid out by the sun and soaked up some rays. That is until we had greek language class and dinner. Brook and I had a little bit to much fun butchering the ridiculously long greek words.
καληνύχτα!
pronouced Kalinichta= Good night!
