Firstly I must appologise for the photos. Apparently only one went will try and do better next time.
Streaky Bay was beautiful, we were so fortunate to get a site right on the beach, so we sit outside and watch the pelican wonder from one fish cleaning table to the next. Then the dolphins came in one evening feeding on the school of fish jumping out of the water. We did some drives along the coast line which is very rugged. I'm amazed at the little fishing villages but have very established homes. Called into Venus Bay but not as pretty as Streaky. On Saturday we went to the races. What a fun day. People really got dressed up for the big day out. We did have an incident though, a horse bolted out of it's stall taking a piece of steel pipe with him. He bolt right through the crowd and maraculously only one person was hurt, but not seriouly. Apparently the pipe hit two cars and come off, and they caught the horse 3km down the road unharmed.
Once the meeting got going again it was the big race, and I picked the winner of Streaky Bay Cup!!!!!!!
Next day I left Tony at the gate of the caravan park and travelled on my way towards Port Augusta. The place I'm staying is actually a working sheep station (25000 sheep) and as it is sheering time there is plenty of activity. Yesterday afternoon they brought the sheep up to the sheering shed, all the family helping including 3yr old daughter & 18mth old son. Today they are sheering, it is also a training school for sheerers. Some need a lot of practise by the looks of some of the poor sheep after sheering.
As you can see I'm having a great time. Move on to Adelaide tomorrow.
