On leaving Port Augusta I travelled to the Flinders Ranges what a beautiful country this is. The first night I spent at Bilgly Dell but no one else turned up so the next morning I went back to Wilpena camp site. This is a lovely bush camping area with several people about. Next day I drove out to Secred Canyon which is an old Aboriginal site. Then I did the drive around the three Gorges. It was pretty rough going in some parts particularly along the river beds but most spectacular scenery. I can understand why people would want to paint it. The toring red cliffs with great red gum tree. It took 4 hours to do the round trip but well worth it.
Christmas morning I did a two & half hour walk up to Hills homestead. It was interesting reading the story of one of the daughters. How people could farm out in this country in the early 1800's is beyond me. They had interesting signs up with the native animal telling their story on how they are trying to servive and the hope that their numbers will come back.
Returned to camp and had Christmas lunch of bangers & mash plum pudding & custard with champagne. As always after Christmas lunch it was rest and relax for the afternoon. Last day I drove to the little town site of Bliman this are if all pastoral country. Many have divered offering camp and caravan site.

Marie & Ian Hi Yvonne, We've been calling you everyday since a few days before Christmas and kept getting a message saying that you are either turned off or in a `no service' area- we then realized only this morning that whilst we had recorded your travel mobile number in our contacts list on the computers, we did not make a hard copy - therefore we were using your old number - Dummies!!! Anyway, by the time you read this I'm sure we will have made contact. Reading your Blog it would appear that you are enjoying your travels - keep safe and we'll be in touch soon. Love, Marie & Ian
