Bangkok - Thailand
Today we arrive in Bangkok, a city know for the Grand Palace and Emerald/Jade Budda Temple and its floating markets. We arrived early morning on the overnight train. It seemed a long night, but actually I managed to get some sleep.
As soon as we got off the train it started pouring it down with rain! We hung and tried to wait it out in the station, but as soon as it calmed down some of the group jumped in a cab and the last three of us walked - the hotel was only across the road! It meant that I actually got to use my backpack rain cover - so worth the money hey? lol!
After finally arriving at the hotel we all got cleaned up, put on our long pants/trousers and tops for the Grand Palace!
The Grand Palace was absolutely huge, it took over an hour to look around and grab as many pictures as we could. It was really hot too. I am so glad I had brought my shorts in my bag, so I could get changed.
It was lunch time once we left the Grand Palace, so we made our way to Khao San Road for lunch! I was on the McDonalds! There is no McDondalds in Vietnam or Laos, so I was on dis like Londis... Got a McChicken Sandwich Meal, Fries and a Coke! Tasted so good. I am defo missing the Western Food! Could murder a Jacket Potato with Tuna and Cheese and a Side Salad... Noodles and rice everyday are killing my gutt....
Khao San Road was full of market stores with clothes as cheap as $3! I was full of excitement and started shopping until I dropped. I even went off to MBK Shopping Mall and continued my shopping spree! Got so many pretty dresses for next to nothing it was a bargain! I even managed to get an Ipod mini speaker for 3 pounds!
By the time I got back to the hotel, I was knackered!
