Ok, so ive finally found the time to write something again, and after realising its been 2 weeks and i have a crazy amount of things to blog about, i thought id bite the bullet and sit at the computer for more that 5 minutes.
Last you heard we were in Auckland, and it pretty much reminded us of London (but will much less to do). We got onto the kiwi bus the next day and headed up to Bay of Islands in the north. The weather was still hot there, and the 3 of us hopped on an early boat to travel round all the islands and do some dolphin watching. As there was nothing else to do that night, we ended up getting spectacularly drunk and by 10pm (after a quick trolley dash down the seafront with Juliet trapped in the shopping trolley) we were asleep by about 11pm. (Mum you must be proud!). We then had to head back to Auckland for another couple of nights where Juliet made her debut for NZ tv and asked to comment on a pair of glasses. Keep an eye out on the news!
The Kiwi Bus is great, so many great people doing exactly the same as us. We're actually some of the oldest at 21, as it turns out that most are straight out of school. Still, we've made some great friends and it will be pretty sad in a couple of days when we lose them as we head to the south island.
Will brielfy mention the activities we've been upto and things we've seen. NZ really is one of the most beautiful places ive seen. Unlike Fiji, there are soo many different types of landscapes and whilst the mountain drives havent been too kind to my stomach, the views when we stop are amazing.
As lots of you will know, Emma and I braved the skydive which was amazing. Never have i seen a more terrified face in a plane - well worth seeing emma's photos! As for mine, its pretty terrifying to see photos of what you would look like 18 stone heavier!!
The day before, a few of us did a 5 hour caving experience which involved a 5 storey abseil, climbing up waterfalls and zip lining in the dark. Never have i been so happy to see a bowl of soup and a bagel at the end of it (again, photos to follow).
Since then, bizarre acitivities include watching rabbit shearing, a cultural night at a mock up Maori evening and luging (a glorified sledge race up a hill).
Sorry this is much longer than i had anticipated. Will try and blog more often in the future. Miss you all xxx
