G'day mate - we are in Australia!
We arrived in Sydney on a sunny day and had the pleasure to see the whole city from the air. There it was the famous opera house!! Later on our stay we went to see a real opera in that building. We also hung out on the Bondi beach, which was nice and packed during the sunny spring-days.
Australia is a huge country with a lot of things to see and looong distances, which was quite surprising. Did you know you can fit Europe twice in Austalia? During our stay we travelled around, surfed and even ate kangaroo. Anna spent a week learning how to surf which became her new passion and Jenna visited Melbourne, where she enjoyed the inspiring European environment and fine art at the Melbourne Fringe festival.
A place worth visiting was a small town called Byron bay. It was a bit hippie and people walked around bare feet. The town was very cosy and was filled with small cafés and restaurants and a very busy nightlife.
We met up in Brisbane were we were hosted by a group of very nice gentlemen. The guys introduced us to the laid back Australian life and thought us some Aussie phrases. We even managed to cut off Tim's 3 months "soberista" and he mentioned us in his blog ( http://hellosundaymorning.com.au/2011/10/16/the-finnish-line/ ) and called our night out: "The Finnish line"; something we think us Finns should be very proud of. It felt really sad to leave this beautiful country and 2,5 weeks was for sure a way too short time to spend there.
Luckily we have amazing friends and extended family in Australia, so we will definitely be back. Next time maybe little later in the spring or in the beginning of the summer ;)
