"Anna and Jenna you are the world travellers 2011!!!" yelled Renne from the NRJ morning show. We participated in a random competition thrown by NRJ and Kilroy last winter and some miraculous way we won. The award was a TRIP ARAOUND THE WORLD.
Competing was a blast but at some point we felt that we had lost all of our street credit (if we ever had had any). We acted as radio jockeys, we danced salsa on the travel exhibition and we survived a diving mission to get the title of "World travellers 2011". In the end of the day it was worth it and I guess you have to be a little bit wacko to enjoy a trip like ours as well, travelling in simple circumstances with your life in a back pack. And now you have the chance to follow us on our trip.
Picking countries is not easy when the world is your oyster. All kind of questions arises: What kind of a man was Robinson Crusoe? Is it cold in Buenos Aires in August? After all it is winter there. IS IT winter there? Do we like desert islands more than crowded surf beaches? Can we ware bikinis on the Vang Vieng river or are the Laos people very conservative? Can we cope with English in Cuba and Mexico? Or should we take a crash course in Spanish before we leave? Is the traffic in New Zeeland left- or right hand sided? I wonder what the "spaceship" actually looks like that we reserved there… So many questions and so little time until the D-Day on the 2nd of August.
We have been planning this trip together with Hande at Kilroy. She has been able to answer some of our questions but we don't even want to have a detailed, complete plan. The trip is supposed to be an adventure and some things you can only learn by doing. Also the best stories are the ones about the hiccups along the way. And good stories are what we all wants isn't it?
Luckily we CAN tell you this: We have flights. And you can see the route here under "travel plan".
Today's drink: Finnish Long Drink
The song of the day: Bruno Mars, Lazy song
Happy midsummer guys!
