World Tour 06
Hello once again!
As you may or may not know we are in Melbourne, the train journey down here took 11 hours and the scenery was immense. You dont realise how big this country is untill all you see for 8 hours on a train is fields hills and valleys with the odd sheep.
Uncle Roger picked us up and took us back to his that evening, hes a right comedian and has been far too kind with the lifts to and from the city so big shout to him!
First day was spent touring the city, we saw the commonwealth games complex, a huge casino and federation square among others. Having a good spell of weather this week with temperatures reaching 33 degrees!
We were missing the beach life and so on Thursday we headed for St. Kilda beach, the waves here are non existent but the beach and the ladies were again brilliant.
Bumped into some locals who challenged us to a bit of footy, they had germans, swiss, kiwis and aussies on their side, all of em built like tanks! Needless to say we won 3-2, top day out made even better by dinner at a pizzeria in town with Roger.
Yesterday we went on the Neighbours tour, some enjoyed it more than others it had to be said but we feel it had to be done. The street is a lot smaller in real life and we didnt manage to catch any of the cast but still had a laugh.
Feeling a bit girly from this tour we got tickets to an aussie rules game. We got dropped off in town and had to make our way to the Telstra dome, Sam spotted an old dude with his car advertising taxi to the dome, he was driving an 81 year old Fiat and was hilarious. We made it in one piece, at first we hadn't a clue what was going on but by the 2nd quarter we had pretty much sussed the main rules out and cheering with the locals.
That was our whistle stop tour of Melbourne and we shall be headin back up north like for some more action in the next day or so.
Take it easy everyone
