Well Welcome to Bolivia!...........we managed to make it, you´ll have to forgive the lack of updates for the past few days but we have been in the wilderness on a 4 day tour of one of the best landscapes in the world..(pictures will follow when we find a internet cafe we trust!!).
Right then, we made it across the border from Argentina just before sunset, with the aid of a frenchman.....the difference a couple of hundred meters makes is quite rediculous....more dogs than people, stuff being sold everywhere at any price and absolutely no way of knowing what to do next!! So using our skills and frenchmans map we found the bus station.....and a bus leaving in 5 minutes to Tupiza. Well 5 minutes is more like 20 over here as you have to have the opportunity to pay for singing, fruit selling, sweet selling, fruit selling again and more singing.
As the bus got underway we saw a full solar eclipse which was very cool and took our attention off the state of the road and the various interesting diversions. 4WD coaches are new one on me but none the less they exist! After a couple more hours we neared Tupìza but not before we had to reverse out of a tunnel which seemed narrower than the bus itself, to allow a lorry or two through. It was only on reflection we realised that we were reversing next to a ravine!!! Joy!
Once we arrived in Tupiza we booked in to the most expensive place in town (14 pounds a night) and enjoyed the aroma of the sewer.....mmmm, left the next morning for a place with a more suitable nose. (no hot water though). Oh and we dined out in fine style as Bolivians believe tourists only ever eat pizza.
Finally managed to sort out a tour into the wilds (which writing this we have just finished). An epic 4 days of staying in sub zero mud huts and salt houses, crossing the andes and the altiplano with some truly inspiring views. Volcanoes, coloured lagoons, flamingos, Picunia, llama, sand storms and moonscapes...........More detail to follow when we put the pics in. We have just spent today crossing the world largest salt flats which is definately a great way to finish the tour. We are now sat in Uyuni waiting for our night bus to take us to La Paz, where we are aiming to find a nice hotel with heating, hot water and maybe a laundry service peeehewww.
More from La Paz in due course, while we debate whether to do some interesting mountain biking!?

Tora Awesome pics. I am so jealous! Sounds like you are having a fantastic time. Just slightly better than our just abandoned Scottish camping - torrential rain, woke up with tent in a pool of water, nice! Looking forward to the next update x
