The world is my school. Today my classrooms is leaving Kyoto and entering Tokyo again. I woke up at around 5:45AM and went down to breakfast. I was very empty. When we finished eating we started figuring out what we were going to do before we get on the train to Tokyo. Everybody decided on going to the 1000 gates temple, where there are 1000 orange gates, each one built by a family. The bigger the gate, the richer the family. When we arrived at the temple we went straight to the orange gate trail, which we followed. We walked under all the gates and the trail was pretty long. It looked so beautiful walking through all the gates with the sun shining through every now and then. When we got to the end of all the gates, we found ourselves in a cemetery. Before you know it there was a zombie chasing us!!! The zombie was Dad. When we finished screaming and running away there was the end of the trail. We rushed to the train station and on our way we found a little stand selling cakes shaped into little fish with a hole in it where you put whipped cream and two strawberrys and then in the middle of the fish there was custard! We called it a 'Boston Cream Fish'. It was so good. When we got to the train station the train arrived and we went on. It was a 3-hour train ride, so what I did was make myself cozy and I worked on my blogs.
We just arrived in Tokyo on are getting off the train. I had so much fun in Kyoto but am so excited to get back in my cozy bed at the Mandarin Oriental! We got on a subway to the closest station then took a taxi to the Mandarin. We just got to the hotel and I am so tired! I can't wait for dinner and to go to sleep! We go to a Chinese restaurant that is so yummy. After wards I get in a relaxing bath, then get out and got to sleep.
Good night

Gran Gautney Hi Belle, I loved your imagery of the orange gates and then their leading to a cemetery. I'd like to know more about that custom. What are the main religious beliefs systems in China and Japan? What are images throughout the culture that show the beliefs of the people? Love, Gran
