Hello again, are people still reading this, I bloodly well hope so?!?!?!?!
So I'm now in Ko Phangan, which is an island off the coast of Thailand. It's mainly famous for the Full Moon Parties it holds each month, and that's the precise reason I'm here. Although it does have some stunning scenery aswell.
I left Bangkok on Wednesday on a overnight train, this time without air-con! I thought I was going to wake up and just be a pool of melted flesh, and I probably would of done if I hadn't opened the window, which I also couldn't shut, so I had 70mph winds flying into my face most of the way haha, so I was freezing, which was probably better than the alternative. I wasn't sleeping much anyway because I was so paranoid about missing our stop. We got to a place called Surat Thani (those who are more observant will recall I stopped here before on the way up to Bangkok) then on this coach to god knows where and on this boat to Ko Phangan. All in all it took us 18 hours! By this point I was really warn out but that was only half of the battle! Next we had to find somewhere to sleep, which meant shifting through the hoards of touts and other backpackers to find somewhere relatively close to Haad Rin (where the party is) and somewhere with at least a roof! We went with this random woman who told as about a place at Ban Tai (yer, where's that?) but we blindly trusted her and got a taxi to the 'Charm Beach Resort'. This place has about as much charm as a case of dihoria. We don't have a flushing toilet, there was only one bed so they had to get another and it doesn't have air-con! But I'm actually starting to like it in a strange way, I think roughing it is good for you sometimes. Plus they do have a pool and its right on the beach with hammocks and lots of stray dogs everywhere (I was playing frisby with one yesterday, I think they are cute) Anyway ever since I have just been chilling, especially after the madness of Bangkok and the water festival (I still have wet clothes from it!) Harry has been lending me books recently, so I'm getting back into reading, which I'm really enjoying. At the moment I'm reading The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.
I managed to change my flights, so I'm going to New Zealand on the 2nd May. And I'm thinking of coming home a couple weeks early, just because money is tight and I'd like a little bit longer back home before Uni starts. Plus I think I'm going to have to pay back a few debts by the end of this trip :P
Hope you're all doing well, miss you terribly and all the s***.
