There is so much to write - it is getting crazy!!
On the Sunday we went to the desert。 It was really weird。 It was like God had suddenly got bored of creating grass and had said "f*** it - lets just make the rest desert"。
It was a really touristy area, so it was packed with Chinese people and we even saw some other Westerners。
To get to the area where the desert fun was happening we had to climb a steep sand slope。It was exhausting even with the rope ladders they had put in to help。 At the tope we went dune buggying。 We rode in what were apparently WW11 Russian boats with wheels。 They took us to see sand sculptures (which looked distinctly like metal sculptures covered in sand);then to a desert driving range (which was the most fun part;then to an "oasis"。 To be honest none of us even looked at the oasis。 It was basically a pond in the desert, so we spent a lot of time taking photos on sand dunes。
After the buggying we rode camels。 I loved it。 After the horse being so uncomfortable to day before our bums were feeling pretty sore, so camel riding probably wasn't the best thing, but I still enjoyed it。 I really like the way they move。 I can image completing a long journey on the back of one。
In the middle of the ride the guy leading us went to take photo's of the others and handed the rope that was controlling my camel to me。 My camel was the one at the head of the line and was attached to all the others。 I had no idea how to control it, especially when the rope was attached to a bar in it's nose and I was terrified of hurting it。 So, when it wandered off to eat some vegetation I didn't know what to do and it just wandered off dragging 10 camels with it。It didn't go that far, and obviously wasn't as dramatic as the bolting horses the day before。
We wanted to go paragliding and space balling in the desert but we couldn't because of the wind (or maybe the lack of wind - who knows)so we just went on a sand slide down to the bottom。 I think I was the only one who made it all the way down with out putting my hands in the sand to slow me down - I wanted to go back up for another go, but it really wasn't worth the climb。
That night we went to KTV and back to the bars we found。 In one of them they sold us a full bottle of vodka to share that turned out to be water。 Once we realized they gave us proper vodka and topped up the other bottle with water and put it back on the shelf!
