I have a place where dreams are born,

THINGS I LEARNED IN LONDON

1. air conditioning is extremely rare, even in the tube
2. they drive on the left for the road but stand on the right for the escalator
3. prices are a little higher, but the exchange rate makes it double
4. cigarettes are everywhere
5. american food chains (pizza hut, kfc, burger king, mcdonalds, etc) were not left in the states
6. if a bartender asks if you're sure you want the drink you ordered, don't order it
7. the tube is not hard to figure out
8. "pants" are underwear
9. trashcans (aka rubbish bins) are hard to come by on the streets (because terrorists put bombs in them)
10. bring a big water bottle because there aren't many, if any, drinking fountains
11. only tip at a restaurant if the service was amazing and never tip at a bar/pub
12. there are prostitots (those middle schoolers trying to act like adults) here too
13. police don't carry weapons
14. pepper spray is illegal (up to 6 years in prison)

15. don't forget about converters
16. remember that there is a time difference
17. not much water pressure
18. they can charge you to use the bathroom
19. it's the second most expensive city in the world and the first in europe
20. green man means "go man" and red man means "dead man" (people don't have the right-of-way anywhere)

21. the paper is longer
22. school is year round but with long breaks in between, no semesters
23. if you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes and it will be different
24. london food is food from other countries
25. peanut butter is better here
26. bring your umbrella everywhere
27. places close around 7 pm on weekdays
28. the markets are the way to shop
29. no smoking in public places as of july 1
30. the tube is silent unless americans are riding it
31. they think our football is wussy
32. there might be more tourists here than londoners
33. all of the dogs are small
34. pastry shops are not hard to find
35. tube doors are not like elevator doors and will not stay open for you
36. restaurants can charge you for eating at their tables, so get it to-go (or take-away as they call it)
37. air dries your newly washed hands
38. most people have never driven a car
39. scarves are worn year round
40. if they give you bread at a restaurant, it might not be free

41. never believe the weather forecast. the weather here changes constantly.
