We came into Oaxaca at about 6am just when the sun was starting to rise, it was an amazing city, very colonial with old spanish buildings and a nice zocolo. When we arrived we were followed by this stray dog for about 10 blocks which was not such a pleasant experience considering when liv started to run away from it, it thought we wanted to play. anyway, found a good hostel and had a nap. later we got up and walked around the city and explored the sights. a few more stray dogs later and a sighting of the biggest marshmellows ive ever seen we went to bed. the next morning we found two american girls who were heading to the same place we wanted to (hierve el agua) and they could speak spanish so we definately hit that up. We arrived in this little town called mitla and explored some of the ruins there and went into a few tombs. very cool. then we found our dream of mexico and lived it. we jumped in the back of a collectivo and with a dusty ride up some steep mountains reached the sulphur waterfalls of hierve el agua. they were amazing and i went for a swim, was pretty cold. but set like an infinity pool and you can see for miles. an awesome day and the highlight of oaxaca.
next stop. peurto escondido.
