It's well into and over the second week period of skiing with Mike our instructor. Still recovering from the skiing and the celebrations last night on hearing my offers, the sunny day goes a miss today whilst my body fixes itself. Hopefully I will get out tomorrow before the new cold front comes in over Whistler due Sunday/Monday.
The past week we have touched base on all the five core skills to "fast track to parrelel," they are;
Stance and balance
Pivoting
Edging
Pressure Control
Timing and coordatination
We have all been given a manual on ski instructing, I'm already well into reading the first few chapters to improve my own technique and help when it comes to the written portion of the exam. Apparently the written section is only relavent if you're skiing is dire, but I still wouldn't want to take any chances. Whilst we have covered around 29 excersizes for each of the five skills, every Friday we do a small exploration of the mountain. Finally my powder and mogull skiing has gone up a level, and the rest of my technique has really improved.
Either way Harrison's night out was great fun, and last night was just as fun. I would write on but I've got to pass up the time to someone else. Will edit later with updates.
