Flora's travells
Hey everyone,
Well we have had a packed last couple of days, which have been really good fun. Can't remember where I left you but... we have checked out of our luxury hotel :-( and are now in a hostel just up the road, still on the main street though.
On wednesday after sorting out our money supplies we decided to rent out some mopeds (brave decision but as you know I am writing this now and we are all still alive!!). It was just 250baht for the whole day so we did a tour of the whole island, starting at Chaweng (where we are staying) then heading up north to have some breakfast on Choeng Mon (i think!). We got off again at Lamai to have a swim but it decided to pour with rain so ended up standing under shelter to wait for it to stop, it didn't so we risked the dodgy motorists along with the wet roads and come back to eat. It took us about five hours all together.
That night we had tickets booked to go across to Koh Pagn gan for the full moon party which happens once a month there. We were picked up from our hostel and were then taken across by speedboat(!) to the other island. It is basically a massive party on the beach. There were about ten thousand people there so naturally we got split up within two hours! Me and James had a good time wandering around looking for Chris and Rob and vice versa. A bit too much alchol was consumed and along with losing each other we missed our boat that we had planned to get back at three in the morning and ended up getting one at eight instead! After the ride home (not so fun as the one there!) me and rob went to the beach and did a bit more sunbathing (in case we haven't been doing enough!) and left the others to sleep off their hangovers!
Today(friday) we were origionally meant to be leaving Ko samui but we booked a trek so are staying on one more night. We did our trek today which consisted of; elephant and monkey shows, elephant trekking, and going to see the waterfalls. The shows were good, the elephants are taught to play football and needed a volunteer for a goaly, so... James managed to save one but an Indian elephant did manage to get a ball past him into the net!! After the shows we were escorted onto the back of an elephant where we proceeded up the mountain. This was amazing if not a little scary!! James and Rob managed to get the naughtiest one who decided instead of slowly walking somberely back down the hill she would try a slow trot!! (rather them than me!!) After this we went to see the mummified buddah and got my fortune told (no luck though unfortunately). After this we went down the road to the waterfalls where we went for a swim, which was amazing but not as warm as the sea!
Hopefully there should be some pictures soon. I am trying to download them as I type!!
Loads of love Flora, Chris, James and Rob. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
