Day 3
Lesson 4: Expect to see anything and everything roaming in the roads my list so far, dogs, cows, horses, ducks, monkeys and elephants.
Today was my big sightseeing day and to fit everything in I got up at the grand hour of 5am. OUCH.
The first stop was the elephant orphanage and it totally made getting up so early worth it. I watched them being fed and 'hanging out' in their protected park and then went down to the river to see them walk down to be washed. Sorry for sounding girly but they are so CUTE!! I thought about adopting one as a pet but thought customs might give me grief.
Left there about 10:30am to go to Kandy. This is a city where the last Kings Palace was built and is now a holy temple of buddism. I had a guided tour round the palace which was so beautiful and a quick RE lesson on buddism-but no questions please!
To round the day off I was then taken to the botantical gardens-which although I strain to have any kind of green fingers except if they're covered in paint- was great to see just for the size of it alone.
Am truly shattered and in a massive dilema as to what to do with myself over the next couple of days in relation to activities, location and countries lol- might toss a coin actually and I'll let you know tomorrow :-) xx
