Hello again my darlings!
Continuing from our previous blog, as I'm sure you are eager to find out what happened to darling Tors next...
On arrival at the Cattle Ranch, despite the temptation, it took some serious pursuasion to convince Tors that horseback riding or quad biking for that matter, was not in her best intrest, and put her to bed for some well needed rest.
Sam, Liz and I headed on over to the goat pen however, to take part in the goat rodeo and enjoyed a game of Circle of Love, which envolved a cattle prod, a beer can and a lot of touching, before heading back to camp to enjoy some goat meat. Having taken a liking to fish, Tors had enjoyed a Croc Pie for lunch.
By that evening, Tors was rested enough to come out and enjoy the party, so we grabbed her again and headed on down, where she quickly discovered that alcohol mixed nicely with her antibiotics! Never one to miss an oportunity to meet men, Liz, Sam and I left Tors in the capable hands of two friendly Irish boys, who were taking turns to spoon feed her, oblivious to the fact she could get her mouth round a beer can to swig just fine. Later on that evening, we all partook (well tors heckled and cheered) in a limbo compatition, in full fancy dress, you guys need to check out the pictures as soon as they go up! Then, later after a few more drinks, mechanical bull riding!
The whole bus was a real laugh, and everyone was so helpful and friendly to Tors, even carrying her back to bed, which was a service John could have used after much goon and bull riding!
Unfortunalty the next day was another early start, and the longest time we were on the road- a 10 hour journey to Airlie Beach, Tors who had finaly come down of her medication was really suffering with her poor leg, and she wasn't the only one, we were all suffering with cleaning up her sick! 6 hours in and she really wasn't feeling too great, so our bus driver kindly made a short detour to a medical centre, where they amputated her foot........JOKING! Where they checked her leg for infection, redressed her wound and gave us some free medical supplies, taking pity on us poor backpackers! The trip there put all our minds at rest, and they gave her a few more tips for a speedy recovery, however with a 4 hour journey left, we were all pleased to arrive Airlie Beach safe and sound, which is where we are now. Our hostel is basic, but has a ensuit shower and bathroom, a small kitchen and a television which is a real luxury! Above all this, it smells strongly of urine, which is a smell we are all enjoying! We are here for a few days now just letting Tors rest and recouperate after our mamouth journey up here, but the doctors are very optomistic that she'll be back to normal in no time, and she is due to have her stitches out in 10 days, if not sooner!
Send many messages of love and support to Tors, as she will certainly apreciate them- and a few to sam and I as well (Have you ever tried caring for Victoria White?!)
Love to you all xxx The International Sweethearts. xxx
