This is my second full day in Athens... probably my last. Mario was delayed somewhere, and so I meet him at Athens airport in a few hours. I arrived here on thursday after 2 nights and 3 days of traveling on various ferries and a bus through Greece. Pity I rushed to be here for the 20th when Mario was delayed anyway but whatever..... I arrvied in the port of Patra with a Japanese bloke I had met on one of the ferries also going to Athens. Funny guy, pretty much no english. Caught a 4.5 hour bus here to Athens, and went in search of the youth hostel. Arrived after a bus and some direction-asking, and had the long awaited shower.... I think 3 days is the longest i have been without showering... not pretty...

Athens is extremely hot... humid, smelly... and has a whole lot of charcter, lots of beeping horns, people calling each other malakas etc. Spent yesterday searching for shade, drinking frappes and eating gyros... lifes hard. I will go to the airport with my pack, I think mario and I will head out to Ios for a few days. Anyway, I have to go check out of the hostel, as I'm sure they'd love to find some way of charging me more money....
