Watcha La. It sounds as though you had an interesting time with Colin and his wife. Did he tell you any juicy stories about mater and pater in their youth, which, let's face it, is going back some now. On that subject, isn't it amazing that mater has reached the grand young age of 60. I can't believe that now both the AgedPs are in their 60s. We may need to start thinking about where to put them in a few years - I'll start researching the local authority nursing homes and the price of adult nappies. Your trip to Fraser Island sounds fantastic - I must do it one day. AJ said that this was a must-see for anyone travelling around Oz. I'll have to make do with a little bit of travelling around Sydney when I come over....AT THE END OF FEBRUARY!!!! I can't wait - it'll be such fun coming to see you on the other side of planet Earth. As you know, mater is coming too so I'll be making her a special wristband that will read, "If you find me, my name is Cynthia and I live in Biggin Hill". A little bit of my news = AJ and I just spent the weekend in Cardiff because we went to the Tsunami Relief gig, which lasted 7 hours and included performances from: Catherine Jenkins; Charlotte Church; Aled Jones; Heather Small; Lemar; Lulu; Craig David; Goldie Looking Chain; Feeder; Keane; Embrace; Manic Street Preachers; and, Jools Holland and Eric Clapton. It was a really grim day up there with rain lashing against us whilst we waited for the stadium doors to open. And, although it was a cracking concert, it was absolutely freezing inside the stadium in spite of the roof being shut. And, when we left at about 10:45 p.m. it was snowing horizontally; weather at the other end of the spectrum to that to which you've become accustomed. Tomorrow I'm taking mater out for something to eat and then to see the film 'Ray', about Ray Charles, for her birthday treat. I also have a couple of bottles of Louis Roederer and Pol Roger on ice, which we shall imbibe whilst waiting for the carpet-fitters to finish laying a carpet in the back bedroom, before we head in to Croydon 'tahn'. Perhaps I'll make some gravadlax canapes to soak up the bubbles.... Alora, time to go and shift some furniture. And don't forget - if you drink too many tinnies or VBs you'll be crook all down your singlet. Ciao bella, Anje xxx

Watcha Lalee (watcha being from the Old English greeting, "What Cheer" ? see, this site is educational and entertaining). The photos and updates of your travels are great. It was lovely to see the pics of Dot ?n? Dave, and the fireworks on the harbour at New Year look particularly good. What larks you must be having, with all of your new friends, seeing so many new things. I hope you enjoyed Coffs Harbour as much as I did ? the snorkelling and swimming with dolphins there was fab. Sorry for the delay in posting but my internet connection has been playing up something like a bad apple. Well I guess you must be wondering what I've been up to since my last message. The old Professor has made a miraculous recovery and would have died, had I not acted quickly (his potassium levels were through the roof due to misprescribed medication). We're now steaming ahead with more research. Jaylor and I went to the last Skinner show, and as I think I said when I chatted to you, Patrick Stewart thought that Jay looked like Tom Hanks, although Frank suggested Paul Burrel, much to Jay's dismay. However, I think that Jaylor secretly liked having been picked out and noticed by Mr. Stewart. A couple of weeks ago I met Penny Smith's stalker...which was nice. I was waiting for AJ at the London studios when the stalker came and sat near me in reception, and told me how he trembles when he thinks of certain things. He also showed me the watch that his mother bought him, which "still tells the time really good even though it was only £30". It?s occasions such as this when my control and restraint training can come in really useful. Christmas was the usual family fun, although Jaylor?s absence was felt. Mum made an excellent feast and we had a pleasant evening with the rest of the clan. I started the Amazing Grace thing as a laugh, when Nan was on the phone to Dot, but it went so well with the harmonies that we went for a second verse. We also had fun at Jayne?s a few nights later with a ?Guess the Intro? CD game that Sally brought along. I romped home the clear winner with the rest of the family trailing in my wake (did you like my use of mixed metaphors there?) ? 22-month-old Olivia was crap at that game! AJ and I had a fab New Year. We started at a pub in Bayswater with some of my gang, which led to a lock-in and larks with a Japanese bloke and an Italian/American bloke that I?d welcomed into the fold because they were sat there on their jack. Then we tubed it down to Vauxhall at 2:30 a.m. for an impromptu house party at which one of my mates told me he has a possibly life-threatening growth on his skull that needs emergency surgery. New Year is such fun! We left at around 7:30 a.m. and thought about going back into town in our Hollywood glamour outfits (the theme for our celebration), for the parade, but thought better of it and headed back to Surrey. AJ and I returned recently from a short break at a luxurious country retreat in Wiltshire, which we took for some relxation before AJ starts his new contract. In our absence, mater popped in to feed Mimi Bear Bouhaki, enabled by the posting of my own keys to her after the set she had failed to unlock the 5-lever mortice lock. I have no doubt that she marvelled at the new hall carpet, which got laid (ooer missus) last week. I could do a deep shag gag but won?t. We now look forward to the delivery of new carpets for the living room and the consulting room (now frequented by two private clients). AJ started at the beeb yesterday and had a tour of Albert Square, the indoor sets, the props room and canteen. We've already got some excellent ideas for the new show. Well, I must go now to collect some dry cleaning in Croydon ?tahn?. Have fun on your travels and remember, if anyone can, the Candyman can. Ciao bella, Anje xxx

Lucy - I have to admit I did know about mummy lynda hiding the tape but was sworn to secrecy (plus I'm not sure I really wanted to listen to nursery rhymes after that dodgy xmas tape). Hope you like the piccies of us all. Enjoy the rest of your kiwi adventure and hope it's warmed up a bit.
