Thanks you lot for keeping me up with the footie score (NOT). Just found out we drew with w brom (better than my dream last night where we lost 5-7 and I cried my eyes out). Funny to see boro losing again though - ha ha ha ha ha ha!

For once I'm lost for words. I think I need a lie down after those last 2 messages....maybe it's cos I've only just woken up after a sleepless night listening to the air con and feeling it vibrate the whole room? Anyway, putting more piccies on to pull us TOTALLY up to date. Good innit!

Enough of all the racist ranting! I loved the new photos and the story about the turtles. I got to see turtles laying eggs on the beach in Phuket but I was quite a distance away and didn't get the amazing view you seem to have. Wow! Alora, the Duffy Moon reference bought back some memories. Also on a memory-lane theme, and prompted by your recent text message, here's some lyrics you may know: "Wake up in the morning, feeling shy and lonely, gee, I gotta go to school. I don't think I can make it, don't think I can take it, I wonder what I'm gonna do. But when I look around and see that someone else is smiling right at me, wait, someone talkin' to me, hey, I gotta new friend." There'll be a prize for any other reader who can guess where this is from. So, you wanted to know about Deb's party. Well, AJ and I arrived at about 9 p.m. and the party was already in full swing (in a jolly, chatty, dancey kind of way rather than a wife-swapping kind of way). Deb's house is great - not dissimilar from my old place in age and layout but much wider. Neale, Tracey and Lewis were there so it was great to catch up with them, and later Auntie Jayne and her ol' china Alison came along. Neale was hilarious - he was talking loudly enough for the people three doors down to hear and doing things that reminded me of Uncle Charles and Granddad George, all at the same time. Lewis was showing off in front of some young girls that were there, so Neale and I decided to embarrass him by dancing in front of him. Some fellas arrived later, with whom Deb has ?made friends?, who really weren't worthy of her supreme beauty and intellect. However, I guess they're convenient play-things for the time being. Anyway, as the evening progressed Deb got merrier and merrier, and decided to change her shoes (I think for a flatter pair) and then to remove her hold-ups, in the kitchen. By that time, the Portuguese liquer, Ouzo and a wide selection of aged Ports had been produced from her lovely sideboard/dresser (this is a piece of furniture and not a euphemism for a body part) and we drank a tot or three. At about 2 a.m. a hard core of us had been dancing in the dining room for ages and it was about that time that AJ and I decided to leave. He had been very quiet all evening - shattered from a busy week at Elstree - and was ready to drop. Thus a jolly good time was had by all. More of my news: I was out last night with Melanie (over from Portugal), Trac and George for a meal in Croydon, which was a very pleasant affair. George is off to Florida in one month and Mel was getting very emotional, perhaps exalted by the vast quantities of Pinot Grigio she'd imbibed. Tomorrow, after dance class, I'm meeting up with my pal Lucy and Nick, one of last year's Ibiza gang. We've got some gossip to share about a mutual gay friend who's going off the rails...again. This friend, to whom I shall refer as Rupert, is a white collar crim. who was once incarcerated for fraud. One time, when he?d been let out on parole with an ankle-tag, he ended up pulling some bloke and then going back to his place. They got down to it, and Rupert kept his socks on to hide the prison tag. When the bloke asked why he?d left his socks on, Rupert said he had a heart condition. The bloke insisted Rupert remove his socks, so he did. The bloke then asked what the tag on Rupert?s ankle was, and Rupert said it was a pace-maker. What?s funnier is that the bloke actually believed him! Alora, I?ll be seeing Pip soon because she?s in the sky right now flying over from Sydney. She?ll be coming back the day after we arrive and has made some great suggestions about things to do and see. Well, I guess I?d better be off now. There?s a little Burmese feline beauty who wants some more pink Champagne. Ciao bella, Anje x.

"big banana" "big shrimp." blimey. "oh let's be good at sport. let's have the biggest shrimp/banana. let's have a riduculous amount of land per person..." aussies, over-compensating much? what's their problem? they're always going to be the precocious, annoying teenagers to our mature grown-ups, trying to assert their identity against ours, being all smelly & spending too long in the toilet. metaphorically of course. then again... & don't even get me started on the yanks. oops...work... j.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Good to hear from you all. You'll have to let me know how Debbie's party went when you've all recovered. I'm in Airlie Beach now and although it's unbelievably hot it's lovely here. Got my credit card now (courtesy of mum and linda - what would I do without you two!) and ready to splash out on some sailing trips. I'll put a postcard on as soon as I've done something more interesting. Byeeeeeeee x

Hi Suzie, how are you doing? What a wonderful experience you are having on the other side of the world. We envy you beng in Australia as it is a lovely country and we certianly enjoyed our visit there six years ago and would very much like to return some time. We are both enjoyng our life in Portugal. Don't believe it when you here people say that once retired life is slower and you do not know what to do with yourselves. We have found retirement here to be quite the opposite. Our next trip back to England is in May for Neale and Tracey's wedding so we are looking forward to that very much. Lewis is now 13 and the two little ones, Dean is two and a half and little Zak is 8 months already, are lovely. Will your trip be finished by May? If so, we hope to catch up with you. Take care Suzie and we will be pleased to here from you and where you are. Good Luck to Palace away to West Brom on Tuesday. Palace are stll out of the relegation zone and need to keep picking up the points - Up THE PALACE.
Lots of Love from
Auntie Joy & Uncle Charles xxxx

To Suzie, glad to hear that you are on the improve, hope the rain has stopped for more than 5 mins. Went to Opium last night in Broadbeach, alas, still no Paris.
To Anje, I told suzie that your mum was the top glammer in Ownstead and I can assure you she had some serious competition. Linda Morris, Kris Oakley to mention just 2.
To Cynth. Seeing as everyone is talking Oz, my response to your thank you is No wukkers.

It's been a while since I last popped into your message board to see how you're doing... and where! Good to catch up on the rest of you Brassetts too! Always knew Auntie Cynth was a diamond - now she's a REAL diamond!! Fantastic that your Mum and Anje are going out to Oz to meet you there..I'll be looking out for the messages then, tell us what you girls really get up to! Can't really imagine you'll be in 3-tier bunks in a hostel then though!! (But then again....!! ha ha.!)
You've already been updated with the fabulous 3-0 win over Spurs... Hope that's enough to put Wayne off going to them.. Hope Dowie can keep him motivated enough to stay at Selhurst. Also.. AJ could be on for an England call up... Sven was at Selhurst for the Spurs game.. What more does he want??!! he IS the no.1 English top scorer in the Premiership... Otherwise Poland are after him (via his Grandfather's side!?!)
Glad I won't be distracted on saturday with an eye on the footie results! Busy busy... Looking forward to my party. I just hope another packet of snow doesn't come along to hinder proceedings.
I'll definitely have another gathering once you return to old Blighty. In your Honour, of course!
Will check in again soon - meanwhile, keep having fun... Big hug.. Cuz Debbie x x x x x x x x x
