Happy New Year!! Hope you all managed to have a great New Year's. We've done a bit in the last few days. We flew from Orlando to Charlotte and then Charlotte to New Orleans - both flights were uneventful and we got in early both times. Once we hit New Orleans, we headed out to get some food - straight to Pat O'Brien's. It was busy so we had hurricanes at the bar before a table became available. The food was great (we had alligator and catfish) and the drinks were amazing, of course. We started heading back to the hotel and with Tara having had a few cocktails, we stopped at a bar that had a bucking bull. To say it was amusing doesn't do it justice! We made some friends, the girls had way more than enough drinks, and then I left Emma and Tara at the bar to drag Brianna back to the hotel room. The three of them were a bit sore the next day.
So we had a lazy morning and then left Tara at the hotel. Brianna, Emma and I went for a walk to the shops on the water front and did a bit of shopping and then headed to the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas. It was quite a nice aquarium and you can feed the stingrays. They have a couple of sea otters (one called Emma) who they have given some basic training too. They were really cute but much bigger than river otters.
Then back to the hotel to get ready for New Year's Eve. It was a pretty good night although the girls were a bit reluctant for a big night having already had one! We left the last bar we went to at about 12:15am to walk the less than 1km back to the hotel and finally made it a bit before 3am. Emma was making friends with half the people on the street and we bumped into so many Aussie's.
Needless to say it is almost lunch time and there are still 3 people sitting in their pyjamas!
