I think this every two days or more journaling is going to work best. I tend to forget that I should do this but it helps me remember everything, so I will forge on!!
On my last entry I said I would be traveling to another smaller town, I didn't because there's nothing there, and that I would be going to Siena in Tuscany. Again I didn't because we couldn't figure out the train system. Who knew it'd be so difficult in another language?
Anyways instead I was able to explore a few more churches and the northeern side of Rome. There is this one church we went to that unfortunetly I cannot take pictures of, so I will explain. This church is decortated with the bones of 4000 monks. It was not a creepy as it sounds but also unbelieveable. Each room was decorated on the ceiling and and had crosses in the dirt and full skeletons with robes and bone arches. It was incredible while also giving you the feeling of being in a graveyard.
Today we explored the ruins right outside the colossum. They are beautiful, while no longer used today they were used for the judicial system and court proceedings would be held there, pictures are on facebook.
The other day, I think yesterday; the days feel so long!! I went to see the Trevi Fountain very early and got to see a few city workers cleaning and gathering all of the coins thrown into the Fountain everyday. And I got to see the fountain turn on at 8:30am, which was kinda cool, how many people can say they've seen that?
Everyone from Paris has arrived home and it's great to hear their stories and laugh with thembut it only makes me more excited to be able to have my own adventures outside of the city. I can't wait for next weekend when I get to go to Cinque Terre and Florence and Pisa!!
Love you all!!
