We arrived in Bangkok, yet again. But this time as we knew we were only staying 1 night to break up our long journey we booked to stay in a hostel right next to the train station we would be travelling from. It was songkran festival when we got there which is the Thai New Year celebrations. We headed down to the Khao San Road which is the busy street with loads of bars, food stalls and loads of backpackers. When we got there it was crazy locals abd tourists EVERYWHERE it was a massive street party, loads of sound systems music playing people dancing as they walk. There we people selling water pistols of all sizes and some sort of chalk that you mix with water and wipe on peoples faces as you pass saying "happy songkran" it was a really good day we got soaked and full of chalk. Such a different way to spend new year rather than drinking alcohol. We had alot of fun. The next day we stayed in the hostel had food, read a book and waited until our train was ready to go, to avoid us getting soaked again.
