Well today was an interesting day... We decided to see the Badlands (which were amazing). All I can say is that is what unreal! The canyons and cliffs and colors! WOW! They even had a fossil exhibit.
After the Badlands we went to see the Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse monmuments (Both really cool) and then it was on to Custer National Park...
We saw everything from deer to wild donkeys to buffalo! We didn't see the buffalo until the very end, I was starting to get a little disappointed... Then ask we round one of the corners... bam I see a hill with black spots moving on it... I yell out BUUUUFFFAAALLLOOOO!!!!!!! Then speed around the other corners to come to a stop with the rest of the onlookers. Well we got out of our car and watched, then realized wow they are getting closer. We hopped back in the car and they surrounded us. It was an experience I don't think will ever happen again. Young and Old buffalos grazed and passed up, they were so calm and beautiful.
Driving back to the camp we saw a few scattered buffalo here and there, Massive animals!!! So the next morning we wake up to find a few of them grazing next to our tent. Liz and I went to go pack up the tent and the buffalo didn't like that too much and started huffing and probably would have charged us if we didn't run behind the car haha.. whoops. So South Dakota was amazing and full of awesome sites. I would love to go back one of these days.
