Well today was an interesting day... to start off we departed Denver. It was pretty sad, we could actually see the smoke from the Los Angeles fires out here. I remember asking Liz if she knew if it was always this hazy, well after listening to the news, we found out it was fire related. (I hope all of my wonderful California people are safe and out of this fires destructive path).
So on our way to Wyoming a large rock hits the front windshield and puts a lovely starburst in it. We were headed to Cheyenne to make a quit stop anyway, but it turned out to be an hour and a half stay. We met Jim there, he fixed the window, and we exchanged stories about Los Angeles back in the day. He was a cool guy. He did a great job fixing the window (15 different spikes in the starburst YIKES!) and we were on our way once again.
I had a totally different view of Nebraska in my head. I thought it was going to be flat and boring and it was the exact opposite. So far Nebraska is my favorite state. The state was green, had different textures and levels, beautiful buffs and awesome landscapes. We spent most of the day here enjoying all of the fantastic natural beauty the state had to offer.
On our way to South Dakota we witnessed one of the most beautiful sunsets ever!!! There are pictures, but they just don't do it justice. Purples, reds, pinks, oranges, blues, so many colors and the sun rays bursting out from behind the buffs.... INCREDIBLE!!! So it was a great way to end our Nebraska experience.... that was until... dun dun dun... little bunny foo foo decided to jump out and make a dent in our trip.. literally... check out the pics. Poor guy, I hope he didn't suffer.
Well we made it to South Dakota close to 10 or 11pm.. not sure what time, I am still on California time, hee hee. We are going to spend the day checking out SD and all the awesome monuments and natural sites the state has.
