We are Sailing
Lunch was had in the nice cafe overlooking the harbour. The harbour itself is very beautiful, and the Marina home to many pleasure craft. The lunch itself was ordinary, not as nice as the food we were having in Greece. Still, we did not have to cook it, so it is a bonus.
The boys were shopped out, but the girls being girls wanted to resume their escapade. Brian and I made our way through the shops to have a drink at a bar near the Marina, Stuart and Heather went off looking for lights that might suit the renovations they are doing on their house at the moment, and Cheryl and Diane went to see what was around.
We had agreed to meet up again and 3.30 ready to go back to the Marina for the Hydroflite back at 3.50.
Once we met, we moved onto the port with the masses, and in true Greek style, these Turks were just as disorganised. Bloody chaos. We were specifically told to be there at 3.50 for a 4.00 pm departure. Not sure if they meant Greenwich Meantime, Greek or Turkey time, but it arrived a good 45 Min's later. Again, some very agitated people waiting int he hot sun. Cheryl and Diane very quietly snuck away and found a comfortable bench to sit on, in the company of a Turkish Guard who was looking after the security at the port. For a short time, he had to leave his seat, and said to the girls with a wry smile "you look after my seat", and Cheryl said to him she would because he had a gun, which he laughed. Of course I wanted a seat, and Cheryl wouldn't give it me, obviously his gun was meant a lot to her!
Finally we were on board the Hydro, and within a short time we were back in Greece. As we made our way back from the Port to the Marina, we stopped at the H2O bar for another well earned drink, and some catching up on wireless so we could talk to lex to see how the follow up on Brians part for the yacht was going. (we are still hot wiring it). Lex had success, great. He will bring the part with him, and Brian can install on Saturday when he and Sue arrive. Once we left the H2O, we went back to the Marina for a short nap, and a shower etc, to get ready for tea. It has been a long day and we are all a little weary. At about 8 we made our way down to the Avanti cafe, where we have been having our night meals. Diane nearly got run over by a couple of cyclists,as the cycleway is right next to the footpath, so if you don't look you will get run over. I am not sure what nationality the cyclist was, but she soon made her feelings known to Diane. The waiter, Lenny, is so good. He is Albanian, and works in Greece waiting, during the summer. He has a small business making polo shirts for school children. He and Brian have had this joke, about shaving, and he gave Brian a kiss on the cheeks last night because he shaved. Well, we had yet another fantastic meal, and left for the boat
