The One Ball Rally
Not normally somewhere I would choose to go on holiday but after India it is like heaven. It's very, very expensive but it is nice to have a bit of luxury before moving on. For example visiting a pharmacy that speaks English to sort out our rashes , bites and stings from the jungle! Oh and also had a well needed manicure! We thought 5 days would be long enough here and it probably is money wise but we still have places we want to see and we won't have time.
We did manage to visit Stanley Market where you can get some good bargains, it sells allsorts clothes, jewellery, bags etc.
We also went to Ocean Park which has a mixture of things to do and see; fairground rides, an aquarium, giant pandas, birds etc. It is really good value for money and great for kids.
For the view it is worth going to the top of the Penninsula hotel, they have the 'Felix' bar at the top which is expensive but it has a good atmosphere and fantastic view of HK.
Going to Lei Yue Mun was an experience to say the least. It has a selection of restaurants which have their own tanks of fish and seafood outside waiting to be chosen! Once we worked out what you had to do it was quite fun! So first you select your restaurant- we went for the one that was busy with locals as there are no menus to browse over! Then you select your fish from the tank and tell the lady how you would like each piece prepared! You can have it with either veg, rice or noodles and then you just sit back and wait... The food was so fresh (obviously) and yummy.
The other thing about HK is that you should buy an Octopus card and travel around on the MTR (tube) and buses they are so reliable and all have AC so it is no hassle and cheap.
