Den on the loose
OZ Day Thirteen
Today we left Airlie Beach feeing relaxed and rested and headed for Eungella National Park which was west of the Town of Mackay.
Upon arrival of Eungella we were quick to notice how small the town was that sat on top of a mountain above the trees. Another thing which i noticed was that there were numerous for sale signs on many of the houses which may explain the lack of residents in the area.
After lunch we went on a guided walk in the Conway National Park up to Mount Rooper via the Swamp Bay which was a 5.5km trek and we were rewarded with a view of the valley below us. We then went on a 2.2km trek to the Sky Window which also gave us another great view of the surrounding area.
Later that day we drove to a viewing spot by the river where we saw platpus' swimming together with the river turtles which really cool.
In the evening we settled into our campsite in front of our campfire and then i went to sleep in the car while the others were tenting it.
