On with the Kouni tour.
Today we were whisked off to the Humayun Tombs. There do seem an awful lot of dead Moguls in India. Very spectacular looking mausoleums and for the engineers in the party interesting water structures going on.
Of course major excitement was caused when we saw an owl in a tree watching us. Much scribbling in Robs note book.
Then we had a drive by shooting of the presidents palace and the parliament. Photo shooting of course.
Then, because these things are important off to lunch. Once more the guide took us to a place that looked very dodgy from the outside but once inside was a cracking little restaurant.
Then we were taken to Ghandi’s last residence were he was universally loved by all, apart from the bloke who shot him. The exhibition with his life story and the last days of his life were very moving, however we went upstairs for the interactive multimedia exhibition. This was...... strange and during the short 45 min video at the end my eyes may have shut.
Walk back to hotel with more bird spotting. Had to drag Rob away with him going “what why what’s going on....”, he was peering into the Israeli compound with his binoculars as a large man was walking towards us talking into a small microphone and fingering something on his belt.
Back at the hotel, nap, beer and read the Daily Telegraph. Hard life but someone has to do it.
Out in the evening for another top notch nosh up. (see we are learning Indian).
