The time now is almost 8pm, with tonight being my third night in Singapore. Never before has a man sweated so much.
Yesterday, after filling my belly with the all-you-can-eat breakkie provided at the hotel, I set off towards the Colonial District. It's the main centre of Singapore, and also where Raffles and all his chaps ruled and settled, so it's a cool mix of old and new. The Marina Bay Sands was especially impressive. Three 55 story towers with a replica ship planked on top, containing an infinity pool, a nightclub, a shopping mall, amongst other things.
Following the Colonial District, I got the underground (the MRT) to Little India. The first thing that you notice is the smell. All those spices. It was lovely. Add that with the colourfully painted buildings and a real bustling feel, and you are temporarily transported to India. It was here where I had the hottest biryani of all time too. I only went into the restaurant because on their flyer. It read, "probably the best restaurant in North India". Probably. Sounds like they lacked a bit of confidence. I thought I'd go in and reassure the lads. It turns out my bum might 'probably' never recover. b*****s!
After that rather spicy debacle, I headed over to Chinatown. Out of all the Chinatowns I've been to, this was up there. Mainly because it had a TINTIN SHOP! The Buddha Tooth Relic temple was pretty cool too. I even managed to see the monks get together for their ritual chanting. Sounded a lot easier than hymns. Maybe I could be a Buddha.
Night time came along and I decided to venture back to the Marina Bay to see the buildings all lit up. The laser show was brilliant. All the walking had worn me out however, so it was time to head back to the hotel and get some kip!
