Today is Day six of my trip to Canada and it is about time to put what I've been doing on here before I forget some it.
Day One
Uneventful plane trip which was very boring. Didn't watch the first movie that was on but did watch the second which was Crazy heart. It was a good movie but it was fairly slow which wasn't ideal when I was already feeling really bored. Didn't have the first meal which was some kind of pasta but did have the square pizza thing we were given later and it was very good. Landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport at 11:30 local time which was an hour earlier than scheduled then had to scoff the ham sandwiches I had forgotten about before going through customs. Got both of my pieces of luggage within a couple of minutes which was great and then got a taxi to the place I am staying. Multiple one way streets surrounding my new accomodation meant the taxi driver was drving in circles trying to find a way in but eventually made it. found key in the letterbox as I was told I would and then found my room key in an envelope inside. Once I had moved my bags upstairs to my room i went back downstairs to phone Lucy(owner of the house) to tell her I had arrived and to arrange to meet the next day as she didn't get in from work until I would be away at rugby. After a brief check of the room I got myself ready to go out and explore but as I was heading out the door the phone rang. It was Mike Gorman (Dads ex-teammate) who was involved at Toronto Scottish, the team I planned to play for, checking that I had arrived ok and also offering to give me a lift to training which I gladly accepted. Since I no longer had time to go out I got changed and waited for Mike to arrive. Rugby was really busy and involved mostly lots of running moves which I struggled with as I was half asleep. I was really surprised by the numbers as there was three teams worth of players at training. Got dropped off by Nick(one of the players) outside where he lives then got the streetcar along to where I live without any problems. Got a shower and then went to bed exhausted.
Day Two
Woke up about 9:30 and headed out on what turned out to be a very busy day. Got the streetcar along St Clair to Yongue street. Went into the government offices and successfully got the SIN number I need to work here. After that I went to the bank and opened an account to avoid having to keep a large amount of money in my room. Then I had a wander down Yonge street until I got bored of walking. Bought a phone, then bought a large Pizza Pizza pizza and then jumped on the subway down to the eaton centre where i bought a netbook/laptop and a baseball cap. After that I headed home.
