This is a little late, but it's better now than never. Arrived in Moscow at 4am, got to the backpackers and woke up the other 4 people in our dorm. We all tried to get some shuteye but it's difficult with everyone in and out all the time.
We went out to see some sites after grabbing a coffee. The cheapest coffee in Russia I have had - 280 down to 140!! (Just over $4). Coffee here is usually around $10 a glass and it's not that great. We were part of the tour still and had a honcho who was quite old and not all that suited to the role. She took us around and showed us a few things but wanted to talk about every building we passed. She did know that it was snowing on us, and sleeting at other times but didn't care I think. We have been into so many churches and museums; it's almost time to give it all I rest. The churches here are like nothing I've seen. It's amazing as when Starlin was in control and until the fall of the USSR, religion was banned. These amazing churches were either destroyed brick by brick or used for storage of chairs or potatoes or anything. Some have been rebuilt on the same spot to look the same. It's odd. Also there is so much gold everywhere.
Had a great night out with the crew at a nightspot that James and Olga love. It made for a great night of dancing and drinking, general Aussie fun in a Russian bar. Three of the guys didn't return for checkout, and then when Alex did he explained how he went to a few other bars and then a café with these 2 Russians….. He lost his voice later that day and I'm not sure he has recovered yet.
The good doctor is still going well, loves Russia but I think he might buy some shoes soon. The cons and dress shoes he bought over are not really that good for negative temperatures.

Dad (and Mum) Great to hear from you again. Alcohol still seems cheaper than most other drinks!!Your Ma and I read it together and she now knows how to navigate through the system. Expect more comments!!! Its 8pm Sunday and we have had a great weekend with Simon and Tanja, and they also brought Granny up. She got 1/2 hours notice on Saturday to be ready to come up here. Did quite a bit of clearing up with the side fence line on Jurgen's side nearly ready for replacing. Plus the prickly bushes near the vegie garden are also gone. Jurgen pushed them over with his tractor while he was snapping fence posts off - from the old fence. Achieved lots, and they got some decent weather instead of usual Melbourne s***. Keep enjoying and keep safe. Love Dad (and Mum) xxxxoooo
Big Rig Poppy beat us and made us work........
